Review the dates and block heights of completed halvings, plus provisional low/high coordinates by season.

Halving history through the subsidy

Bitcoin crossed halving targets in 2012, 2016, 2020, and 2024. Target heights and subsidy changes are directly verifiable on-chain values.

Long-term halving schedule, 2012–2060

Read the confirmed first four halvings and later schedule by target height and post-halving subsidy. Future estimated years are explanatory ranges, not day-level date forecasts.

Halvings 1–4 use confirmed dates; later halvings use target heights and estimated years.

Dates for halvings 1–4 are confirmed records. Later years are explanatory ranges based on an approximately four-year cadence; the network fixes a target block height, not a calendar date.

Coordinates measure time from halving

A low coordinate of −516 means the selected date is 516 days before that season’s halving. A high coordinate of +535 means 535 days after. The coordinate does not represent price magnitude.

A shared axis makes calendar events from different years comparable around the same reference point.

Separate observations from interpretation

Halving dates and heights can be verified on-chain. Selecting a cycle low or high, however, depends on timezone, data coverage, and the rule used to choose it.

Season 1–4 coordinates are confirmed; the Season 5 low candidate is provisional.

Season 1–4 dates and prices were rechecked on August 10, 2026 using TradingView BTC Index daily candles in UTC. The $57,748 observation on July 1, 2026 was recorded as a provisional Season 5 low candidate on August 21, while the existing forecast window remains a separate comparison.
